Pumps come in an array of models and
sizes. Pumps are available in both
submersible and external (out-of-pond
models). For smaller water garden
ponds, a submersible pump is the most
economical.  Larger water gardens and
koi ponds are typically better served
using an external pump.

It is generally recommended that the
water in a pond be turned over roughly
once per hour or two, depending on the
configuration of the filtration system.
However, there are many factors that
need to be considered in the selection
of pump flow including filtration type,
friction and head loss factors, aesthetic
features, operating costs, etc.

We have extensive experience in koi
pond pumps and filtration systems.
