Ammonia Test Strips

Test for ammonia when:

setting up pond or making water changes
tap water contains chloramine
fish breathe rapidly, dart around tank
fish stop eating or die without visible symptoms
Results in 60 seconds. Test for ammonia when

Details: It is important to keep moisture out of the
bottle. Fill vial that is provided with aquarium
water (vial holds 2 to 5 ml.) Dip both pads into
the water and move up and down rapidly for 30
seconds keeping both pads under the top water
level. Remove and shake excess water from
strip. Hold strip level with pad side up for 30
seconds. To read, turn strip over and compare
color of end pad with the color chart. Do not
place vial in the strip bottle after use. Avoid
contact with skin.

Test for chlorine/chloramine when:

setting up aquarium or making water changes
fish appear stressed
fish die without visible symptoms
Results in 15 seconds. Test for
chlorine/chloramine when setting up a pond
or making water changes and when fish
appear stressed or die without visible
symptoms.

Details: It is important to keep moisture out of
the bottle. Dip both pads into aquarium water
for one second and remove. DO NOT SHAKE
EXCESS WATER FROM STRIP. Hold strip
level for 15 seconds. Compare Free Chlorine
(pad nearest dipping hand) and Total
Chlorine (end pad) to color chart. To
determine Chloramine reading, subtract Free
Chlorine reading from Total Chlorine reading.
Readings should be 0.0.
